We’re proudly took part in the National Conference on Unlocking Somalia’s Carbon Market Potential, held in Mogadishu, which brought together representatives from the Federal Government, Federal Member States, civil society organizations, international partners, and the private sector.

The conference focused on developing a national framework to establish and operationalize Somalia’s carbon market—an initiative aimed at reducing emissions and promoting sustainable economic growth through climate-smart practices.

During the event, BECO’s Operations Manager delivered a presentation highlighting the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing clean energy solutions across Somalia. He underscored BECO’s leading role in expanding access to renewable energy, particularly solar power, which has significantly contributed to improving air quality and building a greener future.

BECO also showcased a detailed presentation outlining the company’s progress in implementing green energy projects, demonstrating how solar initiatives have enhanced Somalia’s energy landscape and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. These efforts reflect BECO’s unwavering dedication to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity while protecting the environment for future generations.

BECO’s participation in the conference reaffirmed its position as a key player in Somalia’s energy transition and its strong alignment with national and global efforts to combat climate change.
